Schitzophrenic Americans - Again

You’ve got to read the results of this Rasmussen poll to understand how schizophrenic Americans are. First:

As economic worries mount, 54% of American voters believe that tax cuts generally help the economy. A Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey found that just 15% believe tax cuts are bad for the economy. Nineteen percent (19%) say they have no impact while 12% are not sure.Looking at the opposite end of the spectrum, 64% believe that tax increases harm the economy. Just 16% say they help.

Sixty-seven percent (67%) percent of voters say they’d be at least somewhat likely to support a Presidential candidate who proposed across-the-board tax cuts for all Americans.

But wait. Here’s where we see stupidity and double talk in action:

At the same time, however, 59% favor a proposal to raise taxes on those who earn more than $200,000 a year.

Talk about ideology getting in the way of reality!

So to recap:
54% of Americans believe that tax cuts help the economy
64% of Americans believe that tax increases hurt the economy
67% of Americans say they would support across-the-board tax cut
BUT 59% favor a proposal to raise taxes on the “rich” which is now apparently anyone making over $200,000 a year.

Something doesn’t add up. 67% favor across-the-board cuts but 59% favor increase taxes on the rich. Doesn’t that add up to more than 100%? Obviously some want both.

So who are the crack heads that claim to favor both? And how many of them are also retards that want to give tax credits (government handouts) back to people that didn’t even pay income taxes to begin with?

The rich pay the vast majority of the direct income taxes here in America and the left won’t be happy until the “rich” pay all of it and they get a free ride. We simply can’t give much more of a tax cut to the vast majority of Americans because so many Americans don’t pay any net taxes to begin with.

The question however is going to be how will those that favor across-the-board tax cuts but will vote for the most liberal of liberal Democrats in November who are seeking to increase taxes and raise rates square it in their own minds come election day?
