NH a safe haven: Welcome, illegals and terrorists

If House Bill 404 becomes law, any local law enforcement officer in New Hampshire who finds what he suspects to be an illegal alien would be forbidden by law from even investigating the suspect based on immigration status. Rep. Lily Mesa, D-Manchester, sponsored HB 404 because, she says, there have been “many instances” of “police harassing people.” She means illegal immigrants. But her bill does not prohibit harassment. It prohibits local law enforcement officers from “(i)nvestigating or enforcing any violation of federal immigration laws.”
