Columbia University Professors Headed To Tehran

That’s the news out of Tehran as Mehr has claimed that a group of Marxist professors from Columbia University will head to Iran to “apologize” to President Ineedajihad for the way he was treated during his visit to Columbia last year:

A report in the semi-official Iranian news agency, Mehr, claims that a delegation of professors from Columbia University are planning a trip to Tehran to apologize to President Ahmadinejad for critical remarks made by Columbia’s president, Lee Bollinger, when Mr. Ahmadinejad visited Morningside Heights last year. The report, which could not be confirmed and did not name any professors, said “the main goal of the visit is to meet the Iranian president and officially apologize to him.”

More Iranian propaganda? Possibly. However, knowing the mindset of some of the Iranian sympathizers in our colleges and universities hardly unbelievable.
However Columbia denies the account saying they know nothing about it.

Officials at Columbia University were taken aback on Tuesday when the Mehr News Agency, a government-sponsored news outlet in Iran, reported online that a delegation of professors and deans planned to travel to Tehran to apologize for the behavior of Columbia’s president, Lee C. Bollinger, during the visit to New York by Iran’s president, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, last September….

Indeed. Columbia University said today that it had no knowledge of any planned visit by its professors or deans to Iran. In a statement, a university spokesman, David M. Stone, said, “The university has no knowledge or information about the claims being made in the Iranian media.”

Who is more foolish? The fool or the fools that apologize to him?
