Don’t Panic - McCain Not Winning Over Conservative Republicans

Yes, that’s right. Don’t panic.

There is a growing vocal majority out there among conservatives (myself included) who are making statements to the effect that they will not vote for Senator John “I served in Vietnam” McCain if he is the GOP nominee. And I know it looks like he might be the nominee after the Florida primary but when you look at who was allowed to vote in the GOP primary once again you understand how he managed to squeak out a 5% victory.

Michelle Malkin discusses how fully 20% of those that voted in the Republican primary in Florida were not even registered Republicans. She also discussed reports about how the Florida Primary was suposed to be closed and that you must change registration 29 days PRIOR to a primary. Funny huh? I’ll have a little extra tidbit on this from “the Source” later too.

But let’s look at CNN’s exit polling data shall we?

When it comes to the issue of murdering unborn children and believing that it should be legal, McCain snagged 45% (a massive plurality) of that vote.

When it comes to church going folks, the only categories that McCain won were those that go a few times per year (42%) and never (43%). McCain has the Holiday Keepers vote!

Wow.

Fear not. McCain was put over the top by the vaunted “Moderates” who like some liberal policies but not others. Super Tuesday has a lot of states where people are not allowed to cross party lines

Kennedy’s endorsement could win over Hispanics

Sen. Edward Kennedy’s (D-Mass.) name is gold in the Latino community, and his endorsement of Sen. Barack Obama (D-Ill.) was timed Monday to bridge the widest racial divide working against Obama’s presidential ambitions. But with time running short before many of the most heavily Latino states vote, it could be too little, too late. The Kennedy family’s historical affinity with Latinos, along with Kennedy’s work last year to pass an immigration bill that included a path to citizenship for illegal immigrants, makes his backing one of the most important to many Latinos.

Chavez Takes Food But Relaxes Some Other Socialism

Hugo Chavez is having problems in Venezuela. Following food shortages created by his price controls, he has relaxed those slightly but taken to putting his other authoritarian foot down.

Venezuela’s top food company has accused troops of illegally seizing more than 500 tonnes of food from its trucks as part of President Hugo Chavez’s campaign to stem shortages.

The leftist Chavez this week created a state food distributor and loosened some price controls, seeking to end months of shortages for staples like milk and eggs that have caused long lines and upset his supporters in the OPEC nation.

So, realizing that socialism doesn’t work but not willing to let go Chavez has sent the thugs out to seize property. This is the way the left works folks. Vote for them in this country at your own risk.

Gee, wouldn’t just ending the socialism be easier? But where would be his power in doing that?

Leftists never give up. They just try more of the same.

Clinton calls for immigrants to “step out of the shadows”

COLUMBIA — Chelsea Clinton told a crowd of students and supporters Monday that her mother wants to invite undocumented immigrants to “step out of the shadows.” Chelsea Clinton talked about a path that would allow immigrants to become citizens by paying a fine and paying back taxes as a percentage of their incomes over a period of time. “In terms of the 12 to 14 million people who are here illegally (Hillary Clinton) wants people to come out of the shadows and be registered,” Chelsea Clinton said. She spoke about her mother’s comprehensive immigration plan. She discussed security issues and workplace laws… “I think that the Republicans treat this as something that could just go away, and I want someone to ask them what would that mean.”

ICE to illegal immigrants: ‘We are coming after you’

Immigration officials expect to ramp up their crackdown on criminal and fugitive illegal immigrants in Los Angeles over the next year - including raids Monday in the San Fernando Valley - saying they’re already on track to break last year’s record arrest numbers. “The message here is that if you are an individual that has entered the country illegally, who has been ordered removed and not departed, we are coming after you,” said Brian DeMore, deputy field office director for Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s detention and removal operations. “And if you are a criminal who has committed crimes against our citizens, we are going to come back after you with more vigor.”

Marxists In Vermont Town Go Cuckoo!

Bush Derangement Syndrome is alive and well. Too bad the people affected by it can’t seem to muster the same hatred they have for George Bush when it comes to their fellow travelers abridging our liberties.

BRATTLEBORO — Brattleboro residents will vote at town meeting on whether President George Bush and Vice President Dick Cheney should be indicted and arrested for war crimes, perjury or obstruction of justice if they ever step foot in Vermont.The Brattleboro Select Board voted 3-2 Friday to put the controversial item on the Town Meeting Day warning.

Daims said the most grievous crime committed by Bush and Cheney was perjury — lying to Congress and U.S. citizens about the basis of a war in Iraq.

This is what they claim, yet the funny thing is that they never seem to talk about arresting Bill Clinton, Hillary Clinton, Nancy Pelosi and others (who happen to be like minded) made the SAME arguments BEFORE George Bush was even president!

No, no – that simply wouldn’t fit the “agenda” of the left.

I’d love to see them try and arrest him however. It would be good for a laugh and while there are plenty of things to rail on President Bush for the left never seems to care much about things like Campaign Finance reform and his failure to uphold ACTUAL provisions in the Constitution. They only seem to care about imaginary things that they create in their own minds.

Strange huh?

It just doesn’t stop. Our latest brags from the Labor Department about how they are unconstitutionally spending tax dollars are:

- U.S. Department of Labor announces grant exceeding $800,000 to assist Missouri workers affected by plant closures
- U.S. Department of Labor launches $4 million project to prevent hazardous child labor in the Dominican Republic
- U.S. Department of Labor announces $10 million competition to expand workforce system support of science, technology, engineering and math careers
- U.S. Department of Labor announces $1.2 million grant to help in cleanup and recovery related to Oregon storms
- U.S. Department of Labor announces $10 million competition to build skilled trades careers in the energy industry
- U.S. Secretary of Labor announces more than $1.8 million to assist dislocated Wisconsin workers
- U.S. Department of Labor announces $250,000 grant to help New Hampshire establish regional economic development strategies
And we wonder why our taxes (those of us that actually pay taxes that is) are so darn high?

Go ahead and find the authority for any of this is the Constitution. The challenge stands. So far however the liberals that support this sort of wanton disregard for the Constitution have yet to take it up however. Perhaps because they know they cannot win the argument.

Instead it is just easier for them to ignore the Constitution and the questions and continue on as though they are right … but only in their own minds.

This brave women did everything she could to get the law to help her and protect her. Even repeated phone calls to the police did not make her safe. Instead she ended up calling 911 and you can hear her very real fear filled call.

She is alive today because she had a handgun and defended herself. It only took five minutes for her attacker to make it to her locked bedroom where she hid herself in a closet. Only five minutes and the police were still on their way to help but were not there yet.

The police just can’t be everywhere at once and are likely not where you are when you need them the most.

The 911 operator was calm during the call, but certainly not much help. Notice that she tells the caller that ‘it’s only been 2 minutes’ and the police are on the way. In fact, it was more than twice that long — almost 5 minutes. She also instructs the caller to not do anything hasty once she knows that the caller is armed.

Again this scared women did everything right but in the end it was her right to bear arms and defend herself from attack that saved her life.

Illegals gone from Bay County; sheriff takes credit

Many of the illegal immigrants who once were a visible part of Bay County’s schools, churches and construction sites have disappeared. Sheriff Frank McKeithen said earlier this month the work of his agency is a major factor in the exodus. However, construction experts and others involved in the immigrant community say the construction boom that brought the workers to Bay County has dried up, forcing them to seek work elsewhere. “There are a lot of people that are disappearing,” said Efren Cisneros, who runs a Bible study for Spanish speakers at St. Dominic’s Roman Catholic Church. Participation is down by 50 percent, he said.
