Ron Paul The One? Nope.

Every now and again when I tell the truth about Ron Paul I’ll get some Ron Paulbot who responds with the typical talking points such as how he is the best (or only) chance that the GOP has of beating the Democrats in 2008. This is fueled by the disbelief among members of the Paul camp that a pro-Iraq war candidate has more support among conservatives and libertarians than their man.
But as we have chronicled, Ron Paul being the nominee would most assuredly give the White House to the Democrats and that their candidate is actually more popular among big government liberals. Now this confirmation of the last time Rasmussen polled Paul against DNC front runners.
The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey shows Senator Hillary Clinton leading Congressman Paul49% to 37%. Senator Barack Obama leads Paul by almost twenty points, 50% to 31%. Both Democrats have gained a couple points since an October poll, when Clinton led by ten points, Obama by 17.
Paul is actually one of the least attractive candidates out there and according to this poll will send the Democrats right into the White House. In nearly five months he hasn’t made an inch of headway out side of margin of error noise against the Democratic front runners.
So let’s stop with the talking points about how Paul is the best hope the GOP has. He is right on a great many things. But his poorly contrived foreign policy on how to deal with people that proudly say they want us dead dooms him.

Yet despite this the Ron Paulbots will deny it and claim that reality is what they say it is.
