12 NewsA federal judge tonight threw out a lawsuit challenging the state’s new employer sanctions law, apparently clearing the way for the law to take effect Jan. 1. In his 25-page ruling, Judge Neil V. Wake essentially said the plaintiffs — a broad coalition of business and immigrant rights groups — were suing the wrong people. “This action must be dismissed without prejudice…there being no justiciable case or controversy against the defendants,” the judge wrote. He suggested that a suit brought against a county attorney, the office with primary responsibility for enforcement, might be more appropriate.
