Another Dud Issue For Liberals

When I’m right I’m right. But it is always nice to see the rest of America coming around as well. I do so hate Americans to be wrong.
Last week I wrote an article entitled “A Sub-Prime Example Of Government Exploiting Tragedy” which of course issued the typical responses from the victim class who don’t want to take responsibility for their actions.
In that article I said, “If you are one of the millions of Americans who went to the bank one day, got a loan you could not afford, fell behind on your payments, eventually defaulted on your mortgage and either already have lost you home or on the verge of losing your home, would you understand the point of me handing you a mirror and telling you to look into the eyes of the person that was at fault? If you did, you’d be an American. Especially if you further accepted the responsibility for your actions and did not demand that someone else do something to correct your situation.” And apparently that notion is most prevalent among the rest of America too according to the latest from Rasmussen Reports.
Just 25% of Americans blame “Wall Street Investors” for the nation’s current problems with subprime mortgages and foreclosures. A Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey found that 54% say that “individuals who borrowed more than they could afford” are to blame.
That “25%” is your typical, big business is Satan, business is evil moonbat core. But before you leap for joy at the impression that the majority Americans are thinking clearly on this, consider the follow-up
The public offers mixed signals when it comes to what should be done next. Just 26% say that the Federal Government should aid Americans who took out sub-prime loans on homes and now face foreclosure. Thirty-nine percent (39%) disagree and oppose Federal aid while nearly as many, 35%, are not sure.
Here we see that facade shatter a little. Apparently the schizophrenic Americans strike again! While 54% say that borrowers are to blame only 39% are against holding them accountable?
For those of you that think the individuals are responsible (correctly) but haven’t made a clear commitment to letting them practice their God given right to fail, get both feet on the boat and stop standing around with one on the dock. The ship is getting ready to set sail and you’re just going to get wet as Americans continue to sail on towards prosperity and the helpless “government do something” nanny staters are left standing on shore screaming and moaning. And you’ll be left with them.
