“Tax The Rich” – Dems At It Again!

JOHNSTON, Iowa (AP) - Democratic presidential hopefuls called for higher taxes on the highest-paid Americans and on big corporations Thursday and agreed in an unusually cordial debate that any thought of balancing the federal budget would have to wait.”We’re not going to be able to dig ourselves out” of Bush-era deficits in the next year or two, said Illinois Sen. Barack Obama, one of six Democratic rivals sharing a stage for the final time before Iowa’s leadoff Jan. 3 caucuses.
Asked about the importance of eliminating deficits, Democrats responded by criticizing President Bush’s economic policies, including some of his tax cuts.“I want to keep the middle class tax cuts” that Congress passed during President Bush’s tenure, said Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton of New York. But she said she favors raising taxes for the wealthiest.
”Bush-era deficits”? What about all the deficits that happened under Democrats like Clinton who didn’t even start getting close to a balanced budget until Republicans took over the Congress? FYI regardless of what you have been told by the propaganda mills, we’ve not had a “balanced budget” recently. Every year the deficit has increased since Reagan took office.
Liberals continue to mislead the public. Each year revenues increase and they did so at an incredible pace after the “Bush Tax Cuts”. The problem is spending. And when you consider that over 60% of the federal budget is unconstitutional spending proposed by liberals (both Democrat and Republican) the problem is really “Liberal-era social programs.”
You could balance the budget, pay down the deficit and lower taxes by eliminating all the unconstitutional spending liberals love to promise. But then that would mean no more power. It would mean no more votes bought by the taxes of the productive.
So screw it! Raise taxes on “the rich”!
Just watch out. Sooner or later you’ll be probably be considered “rich” too. So get ready to sleep in the bed you are making.
I think liberals should be the ones that get taxed for their own programs that they desire. Each year come tax time you can declare if you are a “liberal”. If you are, you pay an extra tax to cover the unconstitutional spending you want.
Somehow I think that there won’t be very many liberals come April 15th.
