Supreme Court Could Rule On Second Amendment?
J.J. Jackson* | November 17, 2007
WASHINGTON - Supreme Court justices have track records that make predicting their rulings on many topics more than a mere guess. Then there is the issue of the Second Amendment and guns, about which the court has said virtually nothing in nearly 70 years. That could change in the next few months.
The justices are facing a decision about whether to hear an appeal from city officials in Washington, D.C., wanting to keep the capital’s 31-year ban on handguns. A lower court struck down the ban as a violation of the Second Amendment rights of gun ownership.
The prospect that the high court might define gun rights under the Constitution is making people on both sides of the issue nervous.
“I wouldn’t be confident on either side,” said Mark Tushnet, a Harvard Law School professor and author of a new book on the battle over guns in the United States.
You wouldn’t be confident in either side? What? Oh, I know … you probably have a problem understanding what simple words like “shall not be infringed” mean right?
How about this. If the Supreme Court makes a ruling on such a case where they violate the second amendment and the Constitution, we do what we are supposed to do and impeach them? Oh, that is too simple though right? And you’ll never get the gun grabbing left to go along with such an idea because 1) they are too delusional and think that the second amendment says something it doesn’t say and 2) it would mean Ginsberg’s side of the court would be the one most likely to be decimated by such action. And the left never will give up power willingly once they have seized it.
The fact that there is even a question as to how the court would rule on something so cut and dry tells me that it is time to start drawing up the articles of impeachment against some members.

The question is, will they agree to hear the
appeal. If not, the lower court ruling will stand
and become settled law under stare decisis. If
they vote to hear the case, this means at least
one side of the court feels it can muster a
majority, either to strengthen the decision, or to
overturn it.
