Paul More Popular Among Big Government Libs!

J.J. Jackson | November 15, 2007

This kind of goes along the lines of “the Source”, who often gives me a heads up as to what is going on in Washington, has said to me recently. Just read and I’ll explain.

The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey found Hillary Clinton leading Rudy Giuliani by three percentage points in a four-way race that includes Ron Paul running as a Libertarian candidate and Ralph Nader representing the Green Party. The poll shows Clinton earning 42% of the vote while Giuliani attracts 39%. Ron Paul is the choice for 8%, Ralph Nader is preferred by 4% and 7% are not sure. The inclusion of two minor-party candidates has little impact on the gap between Clinton and Giuliani. Recent Rasmussen Reports polling shows Clinton leading Giuliani by an average of four percentage points in a two-way race. The gender gap is huge—Clinton leads by nineteen points among women while Giuliani leads by seventeen among men.

Perhaps because of his position on the War in Iraq, Paul attracts more support from Democrats than Republicans. He also earns 14% of the vote from unaffiliated voters. Paul is currently seeking the Republican Presidential Nomination and is running sixth behind Giuliani, Mitt Romney, John McCain, Fred Thompson, and Mike Huckabee.

Two weeks ago “the Source” sent me some information that backs this up. The email contained several quotes and copies of emails from prominent anti-war, moonbat liberals (who have to remain nameless to protect “the Source”) that were actively encouraging support for Ron Paul.

Why you ask? Because they want the troops home from Iraq yesterday and know that Ron Paul would be an ineffective President! One stated as much saying, to paraphrase (again to protect “the Source), that the Welfare State was so entrenched that every veto of Ron Paul to end it would be overridden by Democrats and liberal Republicans who are the majority in Congress.

Thus they would get their wishes. First, the troops out of Iraq. Second, the default continuation of the Welfare state. Third an ineffective President that they could basically control.

*Special thanks to ”the Source” contributed background information for this commentary.
