DANBURY — A 29-year-old man is charged with selling forged social security cards and resident alien cards. Danbury detectives today charged Luis Gonzalez, of 3 Smith Street with second-degree forgery and trafficking in personal identifying information. Gonzalez is suspected of entering the United States illegally, so Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents in Hartford have put an immigration detainer on Gonzalez, meaning ICE could eventually prosecute him on immigration charges. The case is being handled by the Danbury Police Special Investigations Division.
