Fargo, N.D. (AP) A roofing company has issued an apology after suspected illegal immigrants were found at one of its Fargo work sites. Indianapolis-based CMR Construction and Roofing says it rigorously follows federal and state requirements when hiring new employees or subcontractors. It says the problem is that there is no accurate way to verify the validity of some identification documents. State officials say they found seven suspected illegal immigrants at a CMR site. A total of 31 men suspected of being in the country illegally were turned over to the Border Patrol last week during two days of contractor compliance checks involving roofers in Fargo.
