Democrat Hillary Clinton would lose to all major Republican White House candidates, according to a hypothetical election matchup poll Monday, reversing her months of dominance over potential 2008 challengers.The Zogby International poll was the latest sign that withering attacks on the former first lady were chipping away at her opinion poll leads just 38 days before the Iowa caucuses, the first party nominating contests.

In the new survey, Clinton trailed Senator John McCain 42 percent to 38 percent, former New York mayor Rudolph Giuliani by 43 percent to 40 percent and former Massachusetts governor Mitt Romney by 43 percent to 40 percent.

She also lagged behind former Arkansas Republican governor Mike Huckabee by 44 to 39 percent, and former Senator Fred Thompson by 44 to 40 percent in hypothetical general election matchups.

According to the Times, all decent, cultured Americans cringe when politicians use foul words like “illegals” to describe illegals. Apparently, what most Americans are clamoring for is yet more automatic messages that begin, “Press ‘1′ for English.” That, at least, is the message the Times got from the stunning victory of grassroots over the elites on the immigration bill this year. It is against my best interests to mention how utterly out of touch Times editors and reporters are with any Americans east of Central Park West and west of Riverside Drive. I enjoy watching the Democratic presidential candidates take clear, unequivocal positions in favor of driver’s licenses for illegals and then denouncing those very positions a week later (after the real polls come in).

Just Be Honest, You’re NOT “Moderate”

Forty-one percent (41%) of American voters say they are conservative when it comes to “fiscal issues such as taxes, government spending, and business regulation.” A Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey found that 43% consider themselves fiscally moderate and 12% say liberal.

At the same time, 37% say they are conservative when it comes to “social issues like abortion, public prayer, and church-state topics.” On such social issues, 30% say they are moderate while 30% say liberal.

Let’s just be honest all you “moderates”. You’re liberal but won’t admit it.

Result: 41% are fiscally conservative and 55% are big government and big spending supporters. Just the “moderates” only want the money spent on themselves and the programs they benefit from. Just my take.

We’re doomed by the schizophrenic Americans who in one breath support liberty and in the next want to end it.

AP Claims Discrimination Against Mexicans in Ill. Town, Offers NO Proof

According to the Associated Press, folks who are “foreign-born” are “newcomers” who “feel anything but welcome” in the Chicago suburb of Waukegan, Illinois. The AP piece leads the reader to imagine that several of the town’s laws have been specifically written to chase out Mexicans and that the immigrant community (legal or otherwise) in Waukegan is feeling pressure to get out. Yet, upon close examination of this AP piece, one cannot help but realize that the AP does not offer any statistics to prove that Mexican residents are leaving in any numbers, they don’t cite any rise in arrests of Spanish speakers there to indicate possible harassment, nor do they even quote anyone to “prove” their contention but one Yolanda Torrez, a lawyer who specializes in criminal, DUI traffic violations, Social Security and DWL traffic violations cases for Spanish-speking clients.

Somali immigrant gets 10 years for plotting with al-Qaeda terrorist to bomb Ohio shopping mall

COLUMBUS, Ohio – A Somali immigrant was sentenced to 10 years in prison Tuesday for plotting to blow up an Ohio shopping mall with a man later convicted of being an al-Qaeda terrorist.

Nuradin Abdi, a cell phone salesman before his arrest, pleaded guilty in July to conspiring to provide material support for terrorists. He will be deported to Somalia after serving the federal sentence.

In a 20-minute statement to the court, Abdi’s attorney Mahir Sherif said his client apologized to the people of the United States, the people of Ohio and the Muslim community. He said Abdi regretted that his conviction might lead to problems for other Muslims.

“He apologizes for the things he thought about and the things he talked about and the crimes he pleaded guilty to,” Sherif said. “He wants to make it very, very clear that he does not hate America.”

77% Still Believe In Liberty

I like reporting on these sorts of polls because it shows how weird Americans are. On one hand I find a poll where people favor the destruction of liberty, or at best tentatively by a slim majority support it by rejecting government mandates like health insurance. On the other hand we have this:

Seventy-seven percent (77%) of American voters say companies should be allowed to require employees to speak English while on the job. A Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey found that only 14% disagree while 9% are not sure.

On this issue, which is the right of a person to manage their PRIVATE property and PRIVATE business as they see fit, they are right by the vast majority.

Land of the Free Studios, Inc., by the way, is an “English Only” company. Glad to see that most Americans seem to agree that I have the right to set that policy and that the fascist mentality isn’t too engrained yet.

CNN Plants Democrats To Ask Questions At Republican Debate

On the heals of plants at the last Democrat debate, now it appears that CNN went out of their way to have partisan supporters of SPECIFIC Democratic candidates ask questions of Republican candidates.

Come on do you really expect anything less? Is it a problem that you have people who are obviously against all the candidates on the stage asking questions of them? No it’s not. But at least be honest. If you are a John Edwards supporter because the sight of his hair makes you have orgasms or if you are linked to Hillary Clinton’s campaign be honest and make it known.

It’s odd that after the Democrat CNN/YouTube debate it wasn’t discovered that there were so many Republican plants now isn’t it?

Thompson Tax Plan DOA

Fred Thompson is disappointing a lot of conservatives who hoped he would be the savior of the Republican Party. His latest faux paus is the endorsement of a non-flat, “Flat Tax”.

The introduction of a voluntary flat tax is a cornerstone of Mr. Thompson’s proposal. Taxpayers could choose to pay a flat income tax, which would be charged at two rates: 10% for joint filers with income up to $100,000 (or $50,000 for individuals) and 25% on incomes above that. Americans who opted for the flat-tax plan, however, wouldn’t be allowed to take tax credits or deductions including mortgage interest, and would continue to pay taxes on capital gains and dividends.

The problems with the plan are numerous. But some of the major ones are that:

1) Its not “flat”. Its “progressive” because it has an increasing rate as you make more money and are more productive.
2) As someone that is in the six figure income bracket (because both me and my wife work and I own my own business) with current tax deductions I pay far less than 25%. Based on the averages I see each year based on our income bracket so do most people in the same boat. So this would be a tax increase. I’m sure however that the liberals who love to soak it to people will embrace this idea however.
3) It still taxes income. This is still a bad idea because it provides only one way for Americans to avoid funding government. And that is to not work. Hence the government still gets you over the barrel.
4) What the heck is this “voluntary” stuff? Either make it the tax of the land or don’t. Who are you now? John Kerry with a waffle like this?

Even with it’s flaws, such as the prebate which makes it also an effectively “progressive” tax, I still support the Fair Tax and Fred Thompson gives me fewer and fewer reasons each day to consider him a viable candidate.

States Crack Down on Sanctuary Cities for Illegal Immigrants

Some states are threatening to take away funding from cities that offer help to illegal immigrants and don’t cooperate with federal immigration control officials.

Sanctuary cities, as they are known, have lax immigration law enforcement policies, allowing illegals to receive government services without verifying their legal status. Supporters contend these policies ensure illegal immigrants will seek police protection and proper health care.

Detroit, which became a sanctuary city in May, could stand to lose $300 million a year, but local law prevents police from specifically searching for or reporting illegal immigrants.

“Sanctuary cities are dangerous, they’re illegal and they’re counterproductive to combating illegal immigration,” said Bob Dane, a spokesman for Federation for American Immigration Reform.

There are 32 sanctuary cities and counties in the United States.

City leaders in Detroit say while police can assist in specific federal cases, helping nab illegal immigrants among the city’s large Latino and Arab populations has drawn racial-profiling accusations.

Massachusetts Libs Want To Ban Spanking Children

BOSTON — Lawmakers on Beacon Hill are set to consider a proposed ban on spanking children in the commonwealth.

NewsCenter 5’s Shiba Russell reported that the issue is set for debate at a Statehouse hearing Wednesday morning.

The Boston Herald reported that State Rep. Jay Kaufman filed the spanking ban petition at the request of an Arlington, Mass., nurse who wants Massachusetts to become the first state in the country to stop corporal punishment.

Well, as long as shooting nebby politicians is still legal …

I’m still convinced that these retards against spanking children are little rug rats who either never got spanked and got whatever they wanted or go spanked far too often for their frail little egos to handle. If passed it only dooms liberty and the rights of parents even further.

Time for the nanny state to place an officer of the state in every house to make sure you don’t discipline your children in a way the state deems too harsh I guess. Perish the thought they might get a smack on their rear to let them know whose boss.
