Nine illegals face deportation

Deportation proceedings are under way against all nine people detained during a traffic stop in Northern Kentucky this week, according to federal officials. Villa Hills, Ky. police called immigration officials Tuesday after they pulled over a passenger-packed van that had allegedly run a stop sign. One of the passengers actually admitted being in the country illegally, prompting police to contact federal authorities, said Gail Montenegro, spokeswoman for Immigration and Customs Enforcement. “One of the individuals may have admitted being here without authorization,” Montenegro said. “… We took nine individuals into custody - five Mexican males, two Chinese females and two Chinese males. … All (nine) are here illegally and will be placed in removal proceedings.”
