My Letter to Senator Casey
J.J. Jackson* | October 6, 2007
I was disapointed, but not surprised to see that Mr. Casey joined his fellow liberals in the Senate and signed their goofy letter concerning Rush Limbaugh. So I wrote him to let him know how I, as a constituent, thought:
Senator Casey,I am deeply disappointed with you and your signing on to the latest attempt by liberal Democrats in our Congress to try and use the war on terror as a stepping stone for the furtherance of your power. By singing the letter to Mr. Mays of Clear Channel Communications over a phony controversy based on taking Rush Limbaugh out of context you have demeaned not just yourself, but the office of Senator of these United States which you currently hold.
Have you and your colleagues no more pressing issues than this? Do you feel compelled to participate in this sort of political hackery because it offends your sensibilities that the truth is that veterans and active members of the military simply do not share the views of your party?
In a day and age when we have an out of control Congress violating the Constitution of these United States at every turn and promulgating rules and laws beyond their authority this is a topic you chose to associate yourself with?
It is time that you reexamine your oath to the people of this nation and it is time you reexamine the Constitution which you are supposed to be upholding. But perhaps that is too difficult since it would require a hard look at programs such as farm subsidies, Welfare, Social Security, and the like which I seriously doubt that you have the courage to look at and deal with as the unconstitutional power grabs that they are.
I suggest you take some time and read the Federalist Papers, our Constitution and our Declaration of Independence and reacquaint yourself with what America is rather than wasting all of our time with tripe such as phony outrage to distract from the real issues threatening America.
