Salt Water Is NOT An Element!

J.J. Jackson | September 17, 2007

Proving that some people at universities are not as smart as they think they are, Rustum Roy says of John Kanzius’ discovery of how to combust salt water:

“This is the most abundant element in the world. It is everywhere,” Roy said. “Seeing it burn gives me the chills.”

Uh … Mr. Roy … you may want to rethink that statement. Oxygen is an element. Hydrogen is an element. But water is a “compound”. And salt water is a “solution”.
