FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE National ProAmerica OrganizationDenounces

Illinois’ Latest Attack

on American Patriot Businesses Springfield, IL – September 25, 2007 – ProAmerica Companies, www.ProAmericaCompanies.com, a rapidly-growing national, non-profit coalition of hundreds of American companies across 44 states, today denounced Illinois’ new law which attacks similar business in that state. In an amendment to Illinois’s Right to Privacy in the Workplace Act, the government of

Illinois outlawed the use of the Department of Homeland Security’s E-Verify Program. The prohibitive law will become effective on January 1, 2008.

The E-Verify Program is a voluntary Internet-based program whereby employers may verify the employment eligibility of newly hired employees. It currently screens about 75% of possible illegal aliens from the workforce (for those few employers which choose to use it.) The new Illinois law expressly prohibits any

Illinois business from participating in the E-Verify program until such time as the program can prove a 99% effective rate within a 3 day turnaround (a practical impossibility). This week the Department of Homeland Security sued for a permanent injunction against the state on grounds that the new law is in direct violation of the “supremacy clause” of the Constitution.

David Marlett, Executive Director of ProAmerica Companies, applauds the DHS’s action, and said today, “E-Verify is a great program. We offer it for free to all of our members, including those in

Illinois. Prohibiting the ‘good guys’ from having the tools they need to do their job for

America is ludicrous at best, and downright criminal otherwise.”

All ProAmerica Companies today denounce the

Illinois law, and to shoot up a bright flare to the rest of the nation. This action by

Illinois is an attempt to make the entire state a sanctuary for illegal aliens. And it is an alarming effort by a state to withdraw itself from the federal laws of our sovereign republic. The citizens of this nation must rise up and decry such illegal laws that shelter invading migrants and the traitorous employers who hire them.

“Though most refuse to see it, we live in a dangerous time as to the future of our nation,” said Marlett. “The most dangerous elements are the general malaise of the citizenry, and the brazen audacity of state and city governments to pass seditious sanctuary laws which renounce their solemn oath to our Constitution.” Marlett returns to Washington this week and next to lobby for the E-Verify Program to become mandatory for all employers in

America. Just as all employers must now require new-hires to complete an I-9 form, so too must the employer screen those document numbers through the federal government to further verify the eligibility of the employee. In addition, mandatory E-Verify will aid in curbing voter fraud, and help fight the national battle against identity theft.

Marlett added, “Americans must wake up. At its core, this is an issue of national sovereignty and survival. It is not about race, color, creed, nation of origin, or any other red herring issue. Superficially, it’s about employment … though in more ways than the obvious. Our elected representatives are our employees. We must demand they remember for whom they work, and what their employer (we the people) are demanding of them: enforce the law against criminal employers. If they can’t are don’t want to do that job, then they should resign or be fired. If they continue to disregard the wishes of the voting citizens of

America, and refuse to resign, then other actions should be considered to remove them from seats of power. Whatever it takes, we must return this nation to a representative democracy that at all times, and by all states and citizens, respects our hallowed Constitution.”
