ACLU to Back Larry Craig

J.J. Jackson | September 26, 2007

Personally, I would tell the ACLU to take a hike on this. Their presence is sure to confuse the issue as they will baffle the public with bullshit arguments.

The American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) submitted a friend of the court brief to a Minnesota District Court in support of Sen. Larry Craig’s bid to withdraw his plea of guilty to lewd conduct and arguing that the string operation carried out in a Minneapolis Airport men’s room that resulted in Craig’s arrest is, in all likelihood, unconstitutional.”The real motive behind secret sting operations like the one that resulted in Senator Craig’s arrest is not to stop people from inappropriate activity,” said ACLU Executive Director Anthony Romero.

“It is to make as many arrests as possible,” Romero continued, “arrests that sometimes unconstitutionally trap innocent people.”

This is exactly what I mean. The “sting” is not unconstitutional but with the ACLU involved that will be their tact as fallacious as it is. What is wrong here is that there is no way to either prove or disprove the charges and that the sting was poorly contrived and required a leap of faith as to predicting future events and mental states without any real evidence.

So please ACLU, spare us your bull!

What is Anthony Romero’s solution? This idiotic liberal drivel:

Continued Romero, “If the police really want to stop people from having sex in public bathrooms, they should put up a sign banning sex in the restroom and send in a uniformed officer to patrol periodically. That works.”

Yeah, people always obey the signs right? We live in a society where so many idiots on the road don’t even know what the word “yield” means and he thinks that if they want to have sex in a bathroom that a sign with an occasional police officer popping in will stop them? It doesn’t work with the yield sign so why would you think it would work here?

This is like saying our schools are safe because we have decreed them “gun free” zones. Yet we still have shootings at schools don’t we?
