Sean Penn’s New Bud – Hugo Chavez

Venezuelan dictator Hugo Chavez has so many problems of his own, but not too many apparently to praise actor Sean Penn:

CARACAS, Venezuela (AP) - Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez has praised Sean Penn for his critical stance against the war in Iraq, saying the two chatted by phone and soon plan to meet in person.

Chavez said Penn traveled to Venezuela this week wanting to learn more about the situation in the country and walked around some of Caracas’ poor barrios on his own.

“Welcome to Venezuela, Mr. Penn. What drives him is consciousness, the search for new paths,” Chavez said Wednesday in a televised speech. “He’s one of the greatest opponents of the Iraq invasion.”

The obvious reason for this praise is that Hugo Chavez certainly doesn’t want a United States that will act and take out countries that break treaties, threaten neighbors, and so on … all of things he wants to do.

Just got back from visiting Venezuela. Amazing changes are taking place there. Now everybody in the country has free healthcare. It’s not just the poor who are really happy with the government, even large sections of the middle class seem to be ecstatic about Chavez. If only we could break the links between big business and their bought and paid for politicians here in the US, maybe we wouldn’t have 46 million Americans without healthcare.

From my understanding of American foreign policy, that sounds exactly like what the US has been doing ever since the beginning of the Cold War!

Uh Eli, the United States has ALWAYS since its inception acted to “and take out countries that break treaties, threaten neighbors, and so on”. It’s called the concept of just war.

Talk about propoganda worthy of Hilter and Stalin! Everyone in the United States has “healthcare” you dolt … it’s just a matter of how you pay for it when you need it. Do you buy insurance or do you pay out of pocket.

You gush over Venezuela, yet you came back? Why? If it is so great why did not you stay there?

Answer: because you like here better. So it can’t be that great!

FYI, people are fleeing Venezuela, fighting back and CHavez is cracking down on civil liberties!
