Mexico to Back US-Deported Emigre

Mexico, Aug 27 (Prensa Latina) The government reiterated Monday its solidarity with Mexican activist Elvira Arellano, deported from the United States, as well as support for her son, who is still in that nation.The Foreign Affairs Secretariat informed that Minister Patricia Espinosa telephoned Arellano to express her support and that of the federal administration.Espinosa sent a letter to Arellano for actions the government must take to back her in that difficult situation, separated from her son.The minister reiterated that since the first day of his mandate, President Felipe Calderon has given priority to the protection of emigres the Foreign Affairs Ministry has carried out in United States, through a network of 48 consulates.
