Kenya is currently running a few pilot projects with DDT spraying in malaria endemic areas of the country. The initial results are encouraging.  
The majority of people working in policy, public health, etc. to fight malaria strongly advocate responsible use of DDT as part of a multi-lateral initiative that includes nets, ACTs, etc. The tragedy is the number of lives that have already been lost and will be lost while the politics of DDT get sorted out.</description>
