The Left LOVES Misnomers In Their Quest For Power

Heads up from Drudge:

From ThinkProgress (a liberal Marxist think tank):

The Center for American Progress and Free Press today released the first-of-its-kind statistical analysis of the political make-up of talk radio in the United States. It confirms that talk radio, one of the most widely used media formats in America, is dominated almost exclusively by conservatives.”
Note the term “Free Press”. Which is odd, considering that their solution is to forcibly limit how people can own radio stations:
Along with other ideas, the report recommends that national radio ownership not be allowed to exceed 5 percent of the total number of AM and FM broadcast stations, and local ownership should not exceed more than 10 percent of the total commercial radio stations in a given market.

But then again they don’t really believe in “Freedom” and “Free Press”. They never have. They just use those terms to make you think they do. They claim

“The gap between conservative and progressive talk radio is the result of multiple structural problems in the U.S. regulatory system, particularly the complete breakdown of the public trustee concept, the elimination of clear public interest requirements for broadcasting, and the relaxation of ownership rules including the requirement of local participation in management.”

Really? It couldn’t be something simple like maybe … oh I don’t know … that liberals don’t listen to the radio and that stations which have tried liberal formats generally tend to do poorly and even out right fail? No, that would be market economics! That would be something liberals don’t understand. Which is understandable since their theories of economics come right from Karl Marx and fail miserably everywhere they are tried.

Again, I point out to you that the two conservative stations in Pittsburgh (WPGB and KDKA) net about a 13 AQH Share while the main liberal station (WPTT) can only get 1.1 AQH Share (Source: Arbitron’s Winter 2007 Book). WPTT MIGHT peak to 1.5 AQH Share during the shows of moonbats Lynn Cullen or Thom Hartman at best. This despite the fact that you can pick it up in 80% of the places you get the “conservative” stations during daylight hours in the Pittsburgh Metro area.

Facts be damned. Ideology is king for liberals. And they’ll use words to suit their purposes and throw misnomers at you as long as they feel they can get away with it.
