It’s Monday! Time For Another T-shirt Straw Poll Update
J.J. Jackson* | June 11, 2007
These are the results for the previous week:
Fred Thompson – 30%
Mitt Romney – 17%
Newt Gingrich – 15%
Tom Tancredo – 13%
Rudy Giuliani – 12%
Sam Brownback – 4%
Mike Huckabee – 3%
Duncan Hunter - 2%
John McCain – 2%
Ron Paul – 2%
Condoleezza Rice – 0%
Fred Thompson continues to lead and Giuliani continues to slip. Romney, Newt and Tancredo all continue to have respectable showings. While Brownback, Hunter, McCain and Paul along with Condi Rice continue to be way behind the pack.
For people that are just stumbling across this, here is the way the T-shirt Straw Poll works. We count up the orders each week from places like Right Things (click on other links) and other sites where we are selling 2008 campaign related stuff for these candidates. We do not count returns or declined orders. The percentages you then see are the completed orders for each candidate. So that means to vote you have to buy something.
This is done because we believe that people are a heck of a lot less inclined to spikes the polls by buying large sums of merchandise for a particular candidate. Whereas with a simple internet poll people have all sorts of ingenious ways of manipulating them.
