Valley woman holds immigration protest counter-rally

A Valley woman is responding to immigration protests held here in the Valley earlier this week.The woman, an immigrant herself, says those crying out against immigration reform are out of line.

Beatrice Cordero held her own rally in Palm Desert Saturday.

Cordero came to the United States illegaly from El Salvador years ago and says she’s all too familiar with the struggles many immigrants face.

“As a foreigner, I came to this country 35 years ago with absolutely nothing,” Cordero says.

Now, she’s a successful business woman. And to show her appreciation to this country she’s set up an event at the Palm Desert Civic Park called “Attitude for Gratitude Rally. “
