Michael Moore Makes Up His “Fact” For Sicko? NO WAY!

J.J. Jackson* | May 21, 2007

Michael Moore would never make things up would he?  I mean it’s not like he was the director of such factually innacurate moves as Roger and Me or Farenheit 9/11?  Right?  Oh wait.  Yes … those actually were his.

The Candian press is apparently already shredding Michael Moore’s latest so-called documentary too.

Michael Moore is handing out fake bandages to promote his new film Sicko, an exposé of the failings of the U.S. health care system. But he may feel like applying a couple to himself after the mauling he received yesterday from several Canadian journalists – present company included – following the film’s first viewing at the Cannes Film Festival.

“You Canadians! You used to be so funny!” an exasperated Moore said at a press conference in the Palais des Festivals.

“You gave us all our best comedians. When did you turn so dark?”

We Canucks were taking issue with the large liberties Sicko takes with the facts, with its lavish praise for Canada’s government-funded medicare system compared with America’s for-profit alternative.

While justifiably demonstrating the evils of an American system where dollars are the major determinant of the quality of medicare care a person receives, and where restoring a severed finger could cost an American $60,000 compared to nothing at all for a Canadian, Sicko makes it seem as if Canada’s socialized medicine is flawless and that Canadians are satisfied with the status quo.

Moore makes the eyebrow-raising assertion that Canadians live on average three years longer than Americans because of their superior health care system.

I suggested to Moore that Sicko makes Canada’s health system look so great, it wouldn’t be surprising if Prime Minister Stephen Harper – of whom Moore is no fan – handed out DVD copies of it as campaign material in a future election.

Other Canadian journalists spoke of the long wait times Canadians face for health care, much longer than the few minutes Moore suggests in Sicko. Moore, who has come under considerable fire for factual inaccuracies in his films, parried back with more questionable claims.

What are you guys saying? That Michael Moore makes things up as he goes along? NO WAY!

Expect this film to be loved by moonbats everywhere and torn to pieces by free thinking, intelligent people.

You are already gearing up to tear this movie up? Have you seen it yet? Just the mention of a Michael Moore movie gets the juices flowing, doesn’t it? You seem to miss the point. You assume that everyone who sees his movies will believe everything in it. We are not that stupid and we don’t need you to tell us that alot of people will tweak the truth or select facts while omitting others to promote thier beliefs. We all do it, including you. Do you really believe that people would think that any healthcare system is “flawless”. I would urge your members and readers to see all of Michael Moore’s movies. Don’t you free thinkers want to know all sides of an issue before passing judgment or forming opinions? Are you amazed that about 90% of my conservative friends refuse to even watch any of Michael Moore’s movies? I wonder if that statistic applies to the rest of the conservatives in this country. I bet its close.
Help enlighten and educate your fellow conservatives and tell them to see this movie. I promise, it won’t hurt.

Take good notes boys and girls, here is the liberal spin machine at work. Can’t defend the fact that movies like Roger and Me and Farenheit 9/11 were wall to wall lies and Sicko is about the same? Just say “well everyone twists the facts” and then go off on a little tirade of talking points. Anything to protect their saviors.

It doesn’t matter if the movies are filled with lies, you should still go and see them! Then spout the same talking points! Because that is the only way they can hope for new converts.

I know I’ve seen both Roger and Me and F9/11 and so has Mr. Jackson. So what real point do you have to make except accusations and promotions of falsehoods?

See jeff, the reason that 90% of conservatives that you know refuse to see his movies is because they are smart enough to say “Gee, Michael Moore has lied in the past, never corrected himself, in fact refuses to correct himself so why the Hell would I believe him this time? Heck I’d rather spend a couple hours with my family than rotting my brain watching filth.”

Where as liberals say to themselves “Uuuuuhhhh … heh look Michael Moore has a new movie that reinforces my mistaken beleef … beleaf … uh idea … that we need more socialism in this crap country. Duuuuhhhhh count me in!”

There once was a time that Americans could tell bull crap when they stepped in it and avoided it the next time. Now there are too many people that don’t learn their lesson the first time.

And yes, I have seen his movies in the past. In fact I did a series of articles debunking point by point the first half of Farenheit 9/11, stopping the tape and talking about each point he tried to make as idiotic as they all were.

“You assume that everyone who sees his movies will believe everything in it.” -jeff (not our “Jeff” but this goober that posted first)

What the heck are you talking about? Where did he say that? Boy, you are just a little Michael Moore wanna-be aren’t you? Making stuff up left and right hoping for attention!

He said only “Expect this film to be loved by moonbats everywhere and torn to pieces by free thinking, intelligent people” and stated facts:

    1) that Mr. Moore has been caught in lies too numerous to count and
    2) quoted an article from the Canadian press tear Moore appart for his praise for their own system

Of course how smart can the guy who wrote that piece be? He doesn’t even understand that the just because you get someone else to pay for a proceedure (like restoring a severed finger) it still COSTS more than “nothing at all”!
