Liberals Gone Wild Trying To Defend Pelosi’s Actions

You’ve got to love the liberals! The following is an except from an email sent by the DCCC trying to justify Nancy Pelosi acting outside her authority under the Constitution by traveling to Syria:

Dear XXXXX,

After our first 100 days taking America in a New Direction, Republicans are desperate to get their power back for their cronies. The Karl Rove machine is already in full swing, running an attack ad against Speaker Nancy Pelosi. The ad was funded by a conservative group that until recently was headed by Sam Fox — the financial backer of the infamous Swift Boat Veterans for Truth.

Some media outlets even went so far as attacking the Speaker for visiting Syria even though the bipartisan Iraq Study Group recommended a diplomatic effort in the region. Republicans have falsely accused other Democrats of voting for “retreat and defeat” in Iraq.

XXXXX, I guarantee you that we won’t take these underhanded tactics lying down. We need to do everything we can to ensure that no Republican attack goes unanswered while making sure that we continue to play aggressive offense.

The DCCC whines and attacks Republicans because in their warped little (and I do mean little) minds the Iraq Study Group said we need more “diplomacy” therefore Ms. Pelosi was justified in acting like a diplomat. Not so fast there Zippy!

FYI “Zippy” is Alice McKeon, DCCC Rapid Response Coordinator, who sent this latest piece of garbage.

Ok, let’s review the Constitution. I KNOW the liberals don’t like the Constitution but it is the “Supreme Law of the Land”. So let’s review …

Article 2, Section 2: “[The President] shall have Power, by and with the Advice and Consent of the Senate, to … appoint Ambassadors”

Got that “Zippy”? The President appoints ambassadors. The Speaker of the House (even if she is a woman) does NOT nor does she have the authority under article I (where the powers of members of Congress are defined) to act as such.

Apparently Alice is trying out her best Howard Dean impersonation with a mighty “RAHHHHHHR!” in hopes of getting a promotion for being a good little (and insane) liberal.
