Giuliani Wants To Make Sure He Doesn’t Win Nomination

Saying he believes abortion is “morally wrong,” Republican presidential hopeful Rudy Giuliani told an audience at Houston Baptist University this morning that he respects a women’s right to choose to have the procedure.
“I believe you have to respect their viewpoint and give them a level of choice,” the former New York City mayor told a crowd of about 300 students and faculty at the school’s Mabee Teaching Theater.

This of course doesn’t bode well for Rudy trying to convince the American public that he would support strict constructionist and originalist judges if elected. He says he is against abortion, but if he believes that the woman has the right to choose then there is no way he would ever appoint a judge that would uphold the right to life as the Constitution requires. By his own words he would appoint judges that would support the current (and false) reinterpretation of the Constitution.

This is just more typical weasel words from a man that is lost in a sea of conservatives he is hoping to convince to vote for him. It’s kind of like John Kerry when he said he was for the 87 billion before he was against it.

I do believe that Rudy is counting solely on the fear of a stark liberal like Obama or Hillary or Edwards being president to garner him enough votes.
