Democrat Controlled Congress Given Poor Marks

Democrats love to rail against President Bush citing poll numbers, but they never really breech the topic of their own dismal approval ratings.
WASHINGTON (AP) - People think the Democratic-led Congress is doing just as dreary a job as President Bush, following four months of bitter political standoffs that have seen little progress on Iraq and a host of domestic issues.
An AP-Ipsos poll also found that House Speaker Nancy Pelosi is a more popular figure than the president and her colleagues on Capitol Hill, though she faces a gender gap in which significantly more women than men support her.
The survey found only 35 percent approve of how Congress is handling its job, down 5 percentage points in a month. That gives lawmakers the same bleak approval rating as Bush, who has been mired at about that level since last fall, including his dip to a record low for the AP-Ipsos poll of 32 percent last January.

I would agree, they deserve poor marks…they have been far too timid……they do not challenge the Bush Admin, where the incompetence, corruption and arrogance is breathtaking…we all thought it was pretty embarassing that Clinton lied under oath, but at least no one died…yet he gets impeached….! the Bush Administration, through continual arrogance, incompetence and neglect have caused the death of literally thousands upon thousands of innocent people (Iraq, Katrina, etc) - let alone the nearly complete diiscrediting of our nation’s reputation around the world….and not even a hint of a call to reckoning, let alone impeachment! The US is incredibly vulerable to it enemies now….When is congress going to get of their duffs and do their job and begin proceedings…we cant take another 20 months of this administration…the damage could be irreversible if they don’t act now!
“Clinton lied under oath, but at least no one died…yet he gets impeached….!”
Yes, because his lie prohibited the constitutional rights of a woman from being upheld.
Other than that your comment is typical DNC talking points and Howard Dean-esque “RAAHHHR!”
Conviently, like a good little liberal, you ignore that Democrats in Congress were “lying” (as you claim) about Iraq long before Bush was ever elected. Oh, but that doesn’t fit you TPM does it?
