More Dems Pull Out Of “FOX” Debate

J.J. Jackson* | April 10, 2007

Both Sen. Hillary Clinton and Sen. Barack Obama said they would not participate in a presidential debate sponsored by Fox News Channel, throwing the event in jeopardy.

The two senators joined former Sen. John Edwards, who announced on Friday he would not participate in the debate, one of four being held by the Congressional Black Caucus Institute.

The Congressional Black Caucus contracted with Fox to co-sponsor two of its debates — one Democratic and one Republican — and gave the two others to CNN.

Let’s stop beating around the bush here. Edwards backed out because he claimed he was scared of FOX News. Now Obama says that the liberal leaning “CNN seems to be a more appropriate host.” And Clinton will only debate in friendly confines of debates “sanctioned by the Democratic National Committee” – which makes one wonder how she will handle more hostile encounters with America’s enemies abroad.

WARNING! SARCASM FOLLOWS!

But let’s face it. The real reason is not FOX News, but the fact that the debate is sponsored by the Congressional Black Caucus Institute. After all, liberal Democrats have a long history of being anti-black since before, during and after the Civil War and all through the 60’s, 70’s and so on. Sorry folks, it wasn’t the evil Republicans that ran around lynching blacks and instituting poll taxes, etc to keep blacks from voting. So this is just continuing with that long standing tradition.

But, you might say, isn’t Barack Obama black? Well, that depends on who you ask. Some don’t think he is “black enough” after all.
