SUV RAMPAGES THROUGH STREETS!

Well … not really. But that is the impression you would get reading the following headline in the Pittsburgh Tribune Review this morning “Woman killed by SUV in the Strip District this morning” The story continues:

A 47-year-old woman was struck and killed by a sports utility vehicle in the Strip District this morning.

Now, let’s correct this article shall we to avoid the politically correct tripe ok?

Headline “Woman killed in Strip District this Morning” followed by “A 47-year-old woman was struck and killed by a person driving a sports utility vehicle in the Strip District this morning.”

SUVs don’t kill people on their own. Just like guns don’t kill people on their own nor bridges when someone jumps off them. They kill people because of the acts of the people controlling/using them or by the acts of people who fail to make sure that crossing the street is safe. So let’s stop blaming inanimate objects ok?
