CBS/NYT Poll On Health Care:

CBS and the New York Times have released a poll that contradicts some things in a poll Rasmussen recently ran about feelings on “Universal Health care” (otherwise known as Socialism).

SHOULD GOVERNMENT GUARANTEE HEALTH INSURANCE FOR ALL?

Yes 64%
No 27%

Compare this to Rasmussen who found that just a few days ago. That poll found that only 33% favor a “national health insurance” plan. Although 57% DID support taxing the rich (and providing nation health insurance?) in that same poll. Talk about mixed messages.

Poll results

So let’s go to the internals of this new poll shall we? Both Obama and Clinton (I don’t know about Edwards off hand) have said that they favor universal health care. But when asked if people were confident that these candidates and their ability to handle health insurance (not a role of the Federal Government by the way and go ahead and try to prove otherwise) the results were quite poor with only 36% confident in Clinton, 25% confident in Obama and 22% confident in Edwards.

Huh? So the people want universal health care but they are not confident in those that are saying they will provide universal healthcare? What have I been saying lately about Americans? That we are schizophrenic! And results like these just keep bolstering that opinion.

So let’s look at some more!

Only 34% of Americans said that the health care issue candidates should talk about most in 2008 is “coverage for the uninsured”.

Then you get to the question “Should government guarantee health insurance for all?” which is where 64% said yes. Now compare this with the response to the question “Would government do better or worse at providing coverage than private companies?” Only 30% said yes!

So 64% want the government to provide health care but only 30% say that government can do a better job!

So what is the balance of these people saying? Give us worse health care? Don’t laugh. It’s a logical conclusion.

Then they asked the question which would be better …”government run system, with universal coverage” or “current private system, with many uninsured”. 47% said government system. 38% said private system.

Again, so 64% want universal health care but only 47% think the government system would be “better”. Huh? For all you retards that said you want universal health care but don’t think it would be better, what is your motivation?

Other “lowlights” of the poll:
Only 36% think it is a good idea to require employers to pay for this insurance and coverage.

Let’s look at how the public perception of health care is worse than it actually is and that Americans are worried about their fictitious neighbor that is not suffering.

Overall, people polled were very satisfied (41%) or somewhat satisfied (36%) with their own coverage. Only 8% were somewhat dissatisfied and 12% were very dissatisfied. But because of the constant drum beat about how terrible health care is in America by the left when asked how they perceived health care in the country 57% said they were dissatisfied!

Ok, let’s recap. ONLY 20% of Americans are dissatisfied with their own health care quality BUT 57% are dissatisfied with the quality of care in the country. Hello! See a problem here?

Then the poll goes off into topics like Iraq and President Bush. These are also telling. This poll claims that President Bush’s approval rating is only 29%. Compare this to more respected polling firms like Rasmussen that place it around 40%.

Sorry, but these results are just too all over the place to make me put any faith in them.

Let me say this one more time for you “64%” that want Universal Health care and couldn’t pass a grade school civics course. There is NO authority in the Constitution for government to either regulate health care OR tax Americans to pay for the health care/insurance of others. So all you “64%” that want to violate the Constitution, welcome to my list of un-American people that are destroying this country by suggesting we move to more oppressive, socialist government.

Not that I think that number is that high mind you. I think there was some creative polling techniques used to get that answer considering how out of sync they are with Rasmussen who’s entire reputation revolves around providing accurate polling.
