Border Patrol Agent Attacked
Carolyn Hileman* | March 13, 2007
A Border Patrol agent assigned to the McAllen Border Patrol station was transported to a local hospital Thursday night to be treated for injuries. The federal agent was patrolling an area near the Hidalgo port of entry. He detected some illegal activity, and that’s when a man came out of the brush and attacked the agent. The incident happened around 9:30p.m. Thursday night and the suspect fled to Mexico. The Border Patrol tells Action 4 News that the agent is in stable condition. This is not the first time border patrol agents have been attacked, in prior incidents they even have been shot at.
