Murtha To Deny Troops Equipment

Rep. John Murtha gets a lot of air time because he is a former Marine, Vietnam Vet and he is against the war in Iraq. This week Murtha laid out his plans for how he was going to end the war. He is going to deny the troops the equipment to fight it.
WASHINGTON (Reuters) - U.S. Rep. John Murtha, a leading congressional opponent of the war in Iraq, on Thursday said his plans for placing conditions on how President George W. Bush can spend $93.4 billion in new combat funds would effectively stop an American troop buildup.“They won’t be able to continue. They won’t be able to do the deployment. They won’t have the equipment, they don’t have the training and they won’t be able to do the work. There’s no question in my mind,” the Pennsylvania Democrat said.
How the radical anti-war, anti-liberty left have come. Way back at the start of the Iraq war (which many of those now opposed to it voted for and supported as far back as 1998) they decried how every single one of our soldiers was not equipped with the absolutely latest in gear and technology and how dare the President send our soldiers into battle like that.
Of course that argument was stupid on it’s face since never in the history of modern warfare has every soldier been equally equipped. It is simply an impossibility. Technology is constantly advancing and products have to be made and then distributed. They simply cannot be poofed into existence. If we waited until all soldiers were equally equipped, there would be something new that would replace old gear and always prevent us from taking action.
But now this is the tact of the anti any war that isn’t theirs left is taking? The same one they decried before? I guess Murtha could say he was for equipping the troops before he was against it?
But while the media loves John “Cut and Run Raise the White Flag” Murtha, they ignore other voices. Voices like Rep. Sam Johnson who get almost no media coverage.
“While Rep. Murtha is unveiling his plan to choke off funding for American troops serving in harm’s way, Republicans like Rep. Sam Johnson _ a distinguished Vietnam War veteran _ are on the House floor explaining the demoralizing impact that the majority’s political maneuvers will have on our men and women in uniform,” said House Minority Leader John Boehner, R-Ohio.
I guess it sure would not help the “cause” much to talk about him.

Mutha is doing to our troops today exactly what the politicians during Vietnam did to me and my fellow soldiers in the jungles. It’s disgusting. And worse, it is treasonous.
