Murtha Involved In “Culture of Entitlement”?

J.J. Jackson* | February 9, 2007

If there is one thing that career politicians like John “Cut and run get out of Iraq yesterday” Murtha know how to do it is say two different things in the same sentence. Rep. Murtha has chimed in on the Pelosi “give me a big ass jetliner now”-gate controversy.

Rep. John Murtha, D-Pa., the Pelosi ally who chairs the House military appropriations subcommittee, said he has spoken to Pentagon officials about the need to provide Pelosi with a bigger plane that can fly passengers coast to coast in comfort.

But he denied pressuring the Pentagon. “I don’t need to pressure them. I just tell them what they need to do,” Murtha said.

“I don’t need to pressure them. I just tell them what they need to do”? Really? I was unaware of that. Did I miss another election where John Murtha was elected President and had control over the military?

But beyond that, to say that you don’t “pressure” people but that you do “tell them what to do” is like saying you voted for the $87 billion before you against it in true John Kerry fashion.

No doubt Murtha is trying to get in on the “Culture of Entitlement” and maybe even pimp a few free rides to California to work on his tan at tax payer expense.
