FRAMINGHAM, Mass. — A 42-year-old man convicted of murder in Brazil more than two years ago has been arrested in Framingham by federal immigration officials. Vander Pedro Silveira was being held Sunday by Immigration and Customs Enforcement, according to a report in the MetroWest Daily News. Silveira was convicted in absentia in August 2004 of killing Gilson Dias Coelho during a 1999 argument in the village of Corrego Do Guiavo, which is near the city of Tarumrim, Brazil. His arrest on Friday was the third in Framingham since 2005 of an illegal Brazilian immigrant convicted of murder in Brazil, according to ICE.
