Immigration Raid Nabs President of National Janitorial Service and his Workers

Los Angeles —Federal immigration officials have arrested the president of a national janitorial service and over 200 undocumented workers employed by the company in 17 states whose clients include Hard Rock Café and Planet Hollywood, reports La Opinion. Richard M. Rosenbaum, 60, was arrested and charged with 23 counts, including the hiring or contracting of undocumented workers and failure to pay federal employment taxes such as social security and Medicare, according to a spokesperson for U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement. Leading entertainment venues, restaurants and resorts were billed for up to $54 million, in which an estimated $18 million worth of federal employee taxes were never paid from 2001 to 2005
