Do you support Sen. Carl Kruger’s Cell Phone Ban?
J.J. Jackson | February 11, 2007
New York State Senator Carl Kruger wants to fine you $100 for using your cell phone or other electronic device while crossing the street. I talked about Comrade Kruger’s little power grab over liberties in my article this week: Please Big Daddy Government Save Us! at Liberty Reborn.
NY1 News has a poll on their site where you can voice your opinion too. So far Senator Kruger’s idea is not too popular with only 23% saying that they agree with arbitrary government control one would expect to find in a socialist or communist paradise.
Guess the left still has a long way to go to convince people that they are better able to handle our lives than we are ourselves.

Lets do a little emperical research of our own:
According to the “good” senator three people have been killed in the NYC area over about the past six months.
According to NYC officials there are approximately 150 pedestrian deaths a year.
This would make the ratio 3/75 or so to people using electronic devices getting hit. Mathematically, it would make more sense to mandate everyone use an electronic device while crossing the street. It’s emperically safer.
What’s next? A ban on smoking in privately owned establishments?…oh…wait…
