Danziger 7 – Turn Themselves In Admid Cheering Supporters

Officers rushed to the scene of a reported shooting following Hurricane Katrina. More shots were fired. And in the end two men were dead and accounts varied. Police said they were responding and that they saw one of the men reaching into his waistband and thought him to be part of the situation.

Some of those with the victims claim that there were not armed and that they were just running from the shooters.

After a grand jury indictment seven officers known as the “Danziger 7” have turned themselves in. But they did so to a swell of supporters who applauded their actions.

It is an incident in which Rev. Al “Race Baiting In My Middle Name” Sharpton called racist. But like so many other times when this term is bandied about the facts are rather different.

“Four of the seven officers are black. Either Rev. Sharpton can’t count, or he can’t see color,” [Defense attorney Frank] DeSalvo said.

Kind of hard for that “racism” charge to stick eh Rev. Al?

Here’s an idea. Either the men where involved or they simply got caught in the cross fire between police and criminals. If the former too bad for them. If the later, I suppose that it is better for the race baiters to harass the police rather than blame the criminals?

So now we go to trial. And we’ll find out the truth … hopefully. And please keep the “race card” in your back pocket ok?  No one is served by your crap.
