Cindy Sheehan is up to her old tricks again, complaining about the United States while embracing any communist regime that will have her.

Activists visiting Cuba protest embargo, prison camp

HAVANA - Peace activists visiting Cuba to protest the U.S. military prison at Guantánamo Bay expressed hope Sunday that the new Democratic congressional leadership will help ease long-standing U.S. trade and travel sanctions against the communist-run island.

“I think it is about time we end the embargo and open up relations between the Cuban and American people,” said Cindy Sheehan, who became an anti-war protester after her 24-year-old son Casey was killed in Iraq in April 2004. “It hurts both sides.”

Really Cindy? Care to explain how the embargo against a country that treats its people so horribly that they flea by the hundreds in leaky boats for America hurts America? Can you get your head out of your talking point memo long enough to consider that?

When you start protesting how your buddy Hugo Chavez and Castro treat their own people, trample on free speech/press and almost any other basic liberty that exists get back to me.

You are known by the company you keep Cindy. Guess that makes you a red diaper wearing communist. Why don’t you just move to Cuba if you like it so much? Perhaps you aren’t as stupid as you look after all?

Nah. You’re still stupid.

Whenever I’ve heard Cindy Sheehan, I’ve been unimpressed with her. I mostly think she parrots progressive boilerplate. Dismissed by most Americans as a Bush/yanquiphobe, Sheehan has an opportunity to regain some credibility with mainstream Americans if she decides to heed the pleas of the Ladies in White. and visit the political prisoners detained in Cuba. Any human rights group that focuses solely on the mild-by-comparison treatment of the terrorists at Guantanamo must be viewed suspiciously.
