New Jersey is 3rd state to allow gay civil unions
Los Angeles TimesThe Legislature moves swiftly after it was ordered to allow same-sex marriages or create an equivalent. By Ellen Barry, Times Staff Writer.
Remember, it is important to note that it was the court that ordered the legislature to basically do something on this issue thus superseding the right of the legislature to make law as is generally the practice in a republican form of government which all citizens of the United States are supposedly guaranteed to have.
