Hillary Gears Up For ’08 - Refusing to Play Second Fiddle to Obama
J.J. Jackson* | December 5, 2006
Come on, you didn’t think she would let some your buck Barak Obama get all the media fawning did you?
WASHINGTON — In a series of stage-managed duets, Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton is asking New York politicos if they’d be willing to back her expected 2008 presidential bid, sitting down with Governor-elect Eliot Spitzer in Manhattan yesterday. After weeks of quiet strategizing, Clinton is starting to take the practical steps necessary to launch a presidential campaign next year. She has been recruiting staff and is expected to name a longtime congressional fundraiser, Jonathan Mantz, to the critical job of national finance director, according to a knowledgeable source outside Clinton’s camp.
Also, Newsday (see source) is running a typical biased poll. Question: “Would you rather see Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton in the Senate, or White House?” How about an option of “neither”?
Instead what you are insured of is getting poll results here where the majority would like to see her in some position of power. Scared of how many might say “neither” Newsday?
