ACLU Browbeats Cobb County Into Submission
J.J. Jackson* | December 20, 2006
It’s amazing how the ACLU goes bonkers over the truth. Cobb County wanted to tell the truth about evolution by placing a simple sticker on biology text books that read “This textbook contains material on evolution. Evolution is a theory, not a fact, regarding the origin of living things. This material should be approached with an open mind, studied carefully and critically considered.”
So the ACLU sued and now they have won by getting those bringing the suit to drop out after being beat over the head relentlessly. Basically it came down to money – something the ACLU has plenty of and something those that stand up to them rarely do
Cobb school board abandons evolution sticker caseATLANTA - A suburban Atlanta school board that put stickers in its high school science books that said evolution is “a theory, not a fact” abandoned the legal battle Tuesday after four years.
The Cobb County board agreed in federal court never to use a similar sticker or to undermine the teaching of evolution in science classes. In return, the parents who sued over the stickers agreed to drop all legal action.
“We certainly think that it’s a win not just for our clients but for all students in Cobb County and, really, all residents of Georgia,” said Beth Littrell of the ACLU of Georgia.
No one with intelligence higher than a loaf of sliced bread can deny that what the sticker claimed was true with a straight face. But still we are back to square one with the theory of evolution being treated as gospel fact and that it happened exactly as someone in a lab says it did with little to no evidence except a four inch piece of leg bone here and a small piece of a skull there.
For the record, and I am compelled to say this each time I talk about evolution to avoid the ravings of idiotic moonbats, evolution does exist in my educated opinion. Whether or not it exists and happened exactly as those that tout it as scientific fact (i.e. that man evolved from monkeys) is in dispute however. But what really confounds the man from monkey crowd is when I also say that I believe that evolution is one of God’s creations just like gravity is.
The problem for the hard core “evolutionists” is that they want to use this theory to disavow the existence of God. But they reach an eventual problem. Eventually they have to answer the question about what the ultimate origin of the universe is. Did it just poof into existence or has it always existed?
And remarkably those are the same beliefs that they deride us religious folks for using to explain God. Sad isn’t it?
