Whose Really Ignorant Here?

I think that this article absolutely demonstrates the problem with many people. They do not stop and think about what they are doing.

Six Muslim imams were removed from a US Airways flight at Minneapolis- St. Paul International Airport on Monday and questioned by police for several hours before being released, a leader of the group said.

The six were among passengers who boarded Flight 300, bound for Phoenix, around 6:30 p.m., airport spokesman Pat Hogan said.
A passenger initially raised concerns about the group through a note passed to a flight attendant, according to Andrea Rader, a spokeswoman for US Airways. She said police were called after the captain and airport security workers asked the men to leave the plane and the men refused.

Ok, so why di this happen?

Three of them stood and said their normal evening prayers together on the plane, as 1.7 billion Muslims around the world do every day, Shahin said. He attributed any concerns by passengers or crew to ignorance about Islam.

Wait, so only half of these guys stood up and recited prayers? Why didn’t the other three? Apparently it wasn’t required action.

Ok, let’s recap history here. On September 11th several Muslim men flew a couple planes into buildings. Passengers on a plane see some (but not all mind you) of this group start praying just before their plane takes off. And what is the response?

They were asked to get off the plane and refused. I don’t know. Seems like a REASONABLE request. But here is how Omar Shahin complained:

“They took us off the plane, humiliated us in a very disrespectful way,” said Omar Shahin, of Phoenix.

Aw. Throw this man a pity party!

Listen, if only three of these imams stood then obviously it wasn’t something they had to do. And since it wasn’t required it must have been done to draw attention to themselves. On top of that, to do it on a plane when you know damn well that people are on high alert for suspicious behavior so that they do not die in a fireball is absolutely stupid and ignorant.
