Talk about whining! Residents of the Italian town where crackpot Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes were married almost sound like they believe that people should kowtow to them!

Tom Cruise and his new wife, Katie Holmes, flew from Rome to the Maldives for their honeymoon yesterday, leaving residents of the small Italian town where they held their wedding at the weekend feeling resentful.

The couple took part in a Church of Scientology ceremony in the 15th-century Castle Odescalchi in Bracciano, watched by 150 guests.
However, the small crowd of residents who camped outside the castle all day, in heavy rain, were not rewarded with even a glimpse of the couple or of any of the celebrities who attended.

The only sight of Hollywood stars, such as Will Smith, John Travolta and Jennifer Lopez, was through the blacked-out windows of limousines as they arrived.

One disappointed local, Loredana Ruggiero, said: ”I waited outside all day and virtually all night.

”They could have got out of their cars or waved from the castle but instead they didn’t acknowledge us at all.”

You’ll not find many times when I side with Mr. Cruise. But in this instance I don’t see what basis the residents of this town believed that they should have even seen him or other people at the wedding. Get a life! If this is the kind of petty stuff that gets under your skin, you better just wall yourself up in a bomb shelter for the rest of your life.
