Illegal Immigration Controversy

Karen Cooley’s idea of rural living isn’t what she expected. She believes her Angelina County neighborhood is being ruined by a growing number of illegal immigrants. “My neighborhood used to be peaceful and quite out here. There are a lot of American families and Spanish families here, but they are legal and I know this for a fact,” says Karen Cooley.

Cooley wants more local laws to restrict illegal immigration. “The system is broken in a lot of places and we need some help,” says Cooley.

East Texas State Representative Leo Berman agrees. “They are violating the most basic of federal laws, laws of immigration,” says State Representative Leo Berman.

Berman believes illegal immigration is costing taxpayers too much money and he is introducing legislation to deny citizenship to babies born to illegals in the U.S. “They are costing us 3 and half billion dollars in a study I just went through,” says Berman.

Here’s Another Child Who Needs Spanked

This is the tale of a woman suing Kraft because she didn’t like their avocado dip:

That’s the issue in a fraud lawsuit filed Wednesday against Kraft Foods, Inc., by a Los Angeles woman who claims the company’s avocado dip doesn’t qualify as guacamole.

“It just didn’t taste avocadoey,” said Brenda Lifsey, who used Kraft Dips Guacamole in a three-layer dip last year. “I looked at the ingredients and found there was almost no avocado in it.”

She is seeking unspecified damages and a Superior Court order barring Kraft from calling its dip guacamole. Her suit seeks class-action status. Hey lady, here’s an idea! Next time you go to the store don’t spend the five bucks (or whatever the damn dip cost) on another jar? The fact that you didn’t like the way it tasted is not cause for a frivolous lawsuit.

You even admit that the label spells out clearly what is actually in the product and the government (as the story points out) has no standards and rightfully so! So what your entire suit boils down to is that you were too lazy to READ the damn label before making a purchase? And now you want to sue Kraft for your own laziness?

If I were the judge I would order you spanked in public and humiliated for being so idiotic and tying up the court system because you are not capable of taking care of your own life and making informed decisions!

Captors release Texan, one other

Sweetwater man bruised but home as search for 3 companions goes on in Mexico

HARLINGEN — Texas businessman David Mueller arrived home in Sweetwater late Wednesday bruised and battered but alive after kidnappers freed him and another man abducted during a hunting trip in Mexico, authorities said.

The search continued for three men who were still missing after more than two dozen heavily armed men staged a commando-style raid Sunday night on a private hunting ranch across the border from Laredo.

Mueller, the co-owner of Sweetwater Steel Co., was released in Monterrey, Mexico, then flown by private plane to Laredo, where he met with FBI agents before traveling home.

“He has sustained some physical and emotional abuse, but he’s in the United States and reunited with his family,” said Norman Townsend, supervisory senior FBI agent in Laredo.

Mueller, 45, was scraped up, and his wrists were swollen from his captors’ handcuffs. ‘’Apparently he was kicked around a little bit,” FBI spokesman Erik Vasys said.

After his ordeal, Mueller was resting late Wednesday, his wife, Anna, said. “He’s fine, and we’re just happy he’s home.”

Monterrey businessman Fidel Rodriguez Cerdan also was released in Monterrey shortly after 1 a.m. Wednesday, the FBI said. Neither he nor Mueller paid a ransom before their release, U.S. officials said on condition of anonymity.

Money considered motive
The two were hunting at the 6,500-acre La Barranca ranch near the Rio Grande northwest of Laredo when they were kidnapped along with the ranch’s owner, Laredo customs broker Librado Piña Jr., 49, his son Librado Piña III, 25, and ranch cook Marco Ortiz.

The FBI and Mexican agents are trying to locate them.

‘’We’re aggressively pursuing leads to effect the safe return of the Piñas to the United States,” Townsend said. ‘’We have every reason to hope and believe they are alive.”

U.S. authorities suspect the kidnapping was orchestrated or sanctioned by one of two drug cartels fighting for control of Nuevo Laredo. In the past two years, 58 Americans have been kidnapped in the area, and 24 are still missing.

The intended target
Mexican officials think the kidnapping target was Piña Jr.

‘’We suppose the owner of the ranch owed something, something economic,” said Lt. Col. Aurelio Macias, director of the Coahuila state police. And, he said, the kidnappers evidently went to the ranch and “collected,” carting off vehicles, stoves, refrigerators, bedroom furniture and even water pumps.

A veteran U.S. agent said it’s still too early to say why the Piñas were kidnapped. ‘’There is still no evidence of any illegal activities,” he said.

Relatives of the hunters say they’re just grateful that at least two have been freed.

We Need More Outrage! Quick! Make Something Up!

The physics of the situation be damned. After all, most Americans can’t tell if something is not possible so just say whatever come to your mind in order to get people pissed off.

(November 30, 2006) — A woman says she saw a soldier’s flag-draped coffin put into a cart with passengers’ baggage last month at the Greater Rochester International Airport, shocking her and other onlookers.

“It looked awful, just awful,” Cynthia Hoag, 56, of Dansville, Livingston County, said Wednesday. “Maybe we made too much out of it, but it was very disturbing to us. If that had been my son, I would have been very upset.”

To which the response came

Procedurally, a coffin wouldn’t come down a luggage belt with other baggage, he said.

Also, a baggage cart isn’t large enough to fit a coffin and other luggage, he said.

“It couldn’t happen. It’s physically impossible,” Damelio said.

He said the airport was unable to find video of the incident.

Nonetheless, the witness’ description prompted Brooks to urge the Defense Department to change policies on the transportation of the coffins of dead soldiers.

Ok, so it is simple. All a reporter has to do is go out to the airport and take a few measurements. Heck they could even take a crate the same size as that which Ms. Hoag claims to have seen and see if the details of her story check out.

But has anyone done that? Nope. The story is just too good to pass up. Right up there with the dead frogman in a tree fairytale and any number of other assorted urban legends.

Show me video and we’ll talk more.

Democrats Continue to Break Campaign Promises

The Washington Post reports that despite pledges to implement all the suggestions of the 9/11 commission, Democrats appear to be backtracking:

Democrats Reject Key 9/11 Panel Suggestion

It was a solemn pledge, repeated by Democratic leaders and candidates over and over: If elected to the majority in Congress, Democrats would implement all of the recommendations of the bipartisan commission that examined the attacks of Sept. 11, 2001.

But with control of Congress now secured, Democratic leaders have decided for now against implementing the one measure that would affect them most directly: a wholesale reorganization of Congress to improve oversight and funding of the nation’s intelligence agencies. Instead, Democratic leaders may create a panel to look at the issue and produce recommendations, according to congressional aides and lawmakers.

Because plans for implementing the commission’s recommendations are still fluid, Democratic officials would not speak for the record. But aides on the House and Senate appropriations, armed services and intelligence committees confirmed this week that a reorganization of Congress would not be part of the package of homeland-security changes up for passage in the “first 100 hours” of the Democratic Congress.

“I don’t think that suggestion is going anywhere,” said Rep. C.W. Bill Young (R-Fla.), the chairman of the Appropriations defense subcommittee and a close ally of the incoming subcommittee chairman, Rep. John P. Murtha (D-Pa.). “That is not going to be their party position.”

Anyone really surprised? I’m not.

Democrat Blocks Enforcement of Employment Laws

A Mississippi Democrat in line to become chairman of the House Homeland Security Committee has warned the nation’s largest uniform supplier it faces criminal charges if it follows a White House proposal to recheck workers with mismatched Social Security numbers and fire those who cannot resolve the discrepancy in 60 days.

Rep. Bennie Thompson said in a letter to Cintas Corp. it could be charged with “illegal activities in violation of state and federal law” if any of its 32,000 employees are terminated because they gave incorrect Social Security numbers to be hired.

In June, President Bush proposed new guidelines concerning “no-match” letters from the Social Security Administration, saying he wanted to make it easier for employers to verify workers’ eligibility and continue to hold them accountable for those they hire.

The Department of Homeland Security followed up on that announcement yesterday, formally releasing new regulations to help businesses comply with hiring requirements intended to reduce the hiring of illegal aliens—including setting guidelines for businesses when handling “no-match” letters from the Social Security Administration.

It’s Settled. We Cannot Stop GLobal Warming.

So go buy an SUV and kill some trees!

Professor James Lovelock, from now on known as Mr. Koo Koo Koolaid Drinking Moonbat has said that global “heating” is caused by humans and that nothing can be done to stop it. However he still thinks that people should try to minimize their impact on the planet by being eco-friendly.

How typically liberal of him; to do things that won’t make a difference in the problem and in the process make the lives of people more miserable.

The bad professor admits that geological activity in the past has caused global warming. But apparently dismisses it in the equation today. I guess volcanoes and other such events have been completely non-existent for the past century or so.

Tyler State Representative Proposes Illegal Immigration Bill

For almost 150 years, if you were born in the U.S. You were an American citizen eligible for state benefits. That would change if a new bill, written and sponsored by District 6 State Representative Leo Berman, passes.

“They are violating the most basic federal laws, our laws of immigration. That is outrageous,” said Berman.

Berman says it is unfair to taxpayers to have to foot the bill for “anchor babies” and their families. “An anchor baby comes in with about a half dozen other people, who are now eligible to stay and draw benefits,” said Berman. “They are costing us three and a half billion dollars a year according to a study that I just went through.”

Berman says there are 20 million illegal immigrants in the United States. “That 20 million number in 20 years will equal about 50 because of the birth rate and the continued illegal crossing of our southern border.”

The 14th Amendment of the U.S. Constitution gives any person born in America automatic citizenship. The amendment was ratified in 1868 to give citizenship to children of former slaves.

“I want to hear a federal judge say this does not apply to illegal aliens who give birth in the United States,” said Berman.

He says if the law passes, children would still be able to get health care and public education. But they would not be eligible for state benefits, including medicaid, food stamps, public housing, the C.H.I.P. program, worker’s compensation or wage compensation.

Shooting of Sean Bell Obviously Not Racist

There are a lot of people who think that when cops opened fire on Sean Bell, killing him, after he left a New York club where he was being given a bachelor’s party.

While the exact facts are still being found out including whether or not the officers rightfully believed that there weapons were about to be drawn against them there are other lightly reported facts that are “lightly” reported to continue to perpetuate the myth of racism.

Detective Mike Oliver, who fired 31 shots, and Officer Mike Carey, who fired three times, are both white - as is Lt. Gerard Napoli, the supervising officer who did not fire his weapon. The two other officers who fired the remaining shots are both black. Their names have not been revealed.

Ok. So there were 50 shots fired. 31 were fired by “white” officers and 19 were fired by “black” officers. Anyone care to explain how two black officers firing 19 rounds on other black men is racism?

It may turn out to have been terribly bad judgment worthy of punishment. But it certainly is not “racism”. So instead of race baiting like a bunch of Jesse “Hymietown” Jackson wanna bes let’s get the facts first.

Future Welfare Recipient Takes First Step

I say this because if the girl is not capable of doing chores there is absolutely no way she will be able to handle the rigors of a real job.

PERU, Ind. — A 12-year-old Miami County girl accused of setting fire to her sleeping mother’s bed and leaving with her younger siblings in the family car told police she was tired of doing so many chores, authorities said Tuesday.

“Apparently the mom had given her a lot of duties,” Miami County Sheriff Ken Roland said. “It was too much for a 12-year-old and she snapped.”

But wait! The insanity did not end with the girl’s actions and attempted murder of her mother.

“I would describe it as normal interaction between parent and children. There was nothing in the last 24 hours extraordinary,” [Miami County Prosecutor Eric Huneryager] said.

Huh? So now children trying to murder their parents while they sleep is not “extraordinary”? Boy Mr. Huneryager I certainly don’t want you handling cases in my neck of the woods with statements like that. Please, please, please stay where you are.
