South Korea’s Ban Looks To Succeed Corrupt Anan
J.J. Jackson* | October 4, 2006
Someone with good ties to the United States might well be the next head of the United Nations when the scandal ridden, do nothing Anan era comes to an end. Ban Ki-Moon of South Korea who has the support of John Bolton, the US Ambassador to Mos Eisley – uh I mean the United Nations, has won support in a straw poll taken among security council members
(CBS/AP) South Korea’s foreign minister appears almost certain to succeed Kofi Annan as secretary-general of the United Nations, after an informal poll revealed that he had the near unanimous support of the U.N. Security Council, including its five veto-wielding members. If Ban Ki-Moon, 67, is chosen as expected in a formal vote set for Oct. 9, his selection will have been marked by unprecedented speed, consensus and calm. In years past, secretaries-general including Annan were picked after drawn-out, often rancorous negotiations, numerous ballots and handshake deals. - CBS News
I can think of two people who won’t like this one bit. First is North Korea’s dog eating, sexually repressed dictator Kim Jung Mentally Il who is threatening (again) nuclear tests. The other is Bill “Slick Willie” Clinton whom many on the left hoped would be in the running. That is so that if (Heaven forbid) his socialist wife were elected president in 2008 the left wing would have firm control over the most powerful country in the world and the biggest den of scum and villainy on the planet. No – not Congress, although that den of thieves is certainly a close second.
