No, I’m Not FOR Homosexual Marriage

Ok, as usual some “conservatives” just don’t get it. As is typical, whenever I talk about how I do not support the state or federal government interfering with the definition of marriage the emails always start. It’s understandable. I have found that most members of the conservative movement are still fighting to shed the liberalism that has been forced upon them and try to make the two merge together rather than simply discard the crap for the truth.

To answer the major complaint, no, I am not a liberal masquerading as a conservative although I think most people that rail against my stance are exhibiting signs typical of the disease of liberalism.

My stance is clearly as follows.

Do I support homosexual marriage? No.

Do I support constitutional bans/definitions of marriage? No.

A liberal answers “Yes” and “No” to those questions respectively. They support homosexual marriage because they believe in the false premise that marriage is about simply arbitrary “love”.

I am a libertarian which is a conservative’s conservative. That means I am probably further to the right than most of you that email me claiming the title of “conservative”. I do not support homosexual marriage because marriage is not two men or two women who “love” each other any more than it is about a man and his donut or a woman and her dog that “love” one another.

But I also do not support government by law telling a religious institution what the arrangements that stem from their institution mean.

Today government has taken the religious institution of marriage and co-opted it into a civil institution as well. And that is something they never should have done. Marriage should remain with the church to define in the traditions of the church. And government should stop stepping on its toes.

This is the limited government view “conservatives” should be adhering to to be consistent.
