Screw The Fishies! Dill The Gulf!

Talk about a potentially HUGE oil find that is sure to make third world dictators and despots who control our oil supply (thanks to a do nothing Congress) squirm!

San Ramon-based Chevron Corp. (CVX) said it completed the deepest successful test of a Gulf of Mexico well, showing it may be possible to produce billions of barrels of oil from a new undersea deposit.

The well was tested at more than 20,000 feet beneath the sea floor in 7,000 feet of water, 175 miles off the Louisiana coast, according to a statement from Chevron, the field’s operator and 50 percent owner. The new deposits that are being explored may hold 3 billion to 15 billion barrels of oil, Chevron spokeswoman Margaret Cooper said. - San Jose Mercury

15 billion barrels is roughly what we have gotten from the Alaskan Pipeline just to give some perspective. And Prudhoe Bay was only predicted to yield about 1 billion barrels.

So much like I say SCREW THE CARIBOU! And DRILL ALASKA!

(And yes, I had that design LONG before Glenn Beck) I say now SCREW THE FISHIES! DRILL THE DAMN GULF OF MEXICO!
