California Liberals Poisoning the Nation!

First the federal government is blamed for the recent E. coli outbreak linked to packaged spinach.

As the E. coli outbreak stretched into 21 states, food safety advocates called on the federal government to revamp its regulations for fruit and vegetable production.

“(Government) budgets for food safety have been going down for the last several years,” said Chris Waldrop, a deputy director at the Consumer Federation of America. “The cracks are starting to show.”

As of Monday afternoon, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reported that 114 people, including one in California, have been infected with a strain of E. coli that has been linked to fresh spinach. One person has died as a result, and there is an ongoing investigation into the cause of a second death. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration said it found no evidence of deliberate contamination.

Even though the federal government has no authority under Article I, Section 8 to regulate “fresh spinach” it is a typical knee jerk response. After all the nanny state has always been there for us in the past right?

But the truth of the matter and the real culprit is much more sinister.

The food poisonings are the latest in a string of at least 19 outbreaks linked to lettuce or spinach since 1995. Eight were traced to the Salinas Valley, known as the “salad bowl of the world.”

Dr. David Acheson, chief medical officer for the FDA’s food safety division, said Monday that all of the brands implicated so far in the current outbreak appear to have originated in California as well.

That’s right, California liberals are poisoning the rest of the country. Apparently they are more distraught at losing the last several elections than we realized. And now they have turned to attempted murder.
