A Lesser of Two Evils is Still Evil!

Mid-term elections are coming up, as anyone who has watched a news program in the past day or so should be able to tell. Now, while most of us will be at home wanting to vote on some reality-based television show instead of vote for those making decisions about our nation’s direction, I thought I would bring something up.

Many conservatives are getting fed up with the current Republican party, especially this one! Yet, we are constantly told that if we vote for anyone else other than the Republicans, the Democrats will win and that’s a bad thing!

While I will not argue that one Democrat in any office is one too many, there are but a select few Republicans who are worthy of being in office. President George W. Bush isn’t one of them.

Voting for a lesser of two evils, however, is still voting for evil! If by chance you aren’t lucking enough to live in Congressional District 8 of Arizona so you can vote for a great American like Randy Graf, you may think you are forced with the choice of voting for that candidate who would fit the bill, “lesser of two evils.”

The simple fact of the matter is you are not forced to vote for anyone you do not feel is worthy of your vote! A wasted vote is a vote you give to someone you do not feel is best suited for the job.

For example, if John McCain were to run for President in ‘08 against Hillary Clinton (assuming either of them run), I would not be able to vote for either one of them as I find them unworthy of any elected office, let alone leader of the free world. Yes, I know that if I voted for anyone outside of John McCain, I would take one vote away from the GOP and thus give Hillary even a greater chance of winning. I would not be able to live with myself, though if I voted for John McCain and he had the chance to run this nation.

So, if you cannot vote for the better person in the two parties that seem to not have much differences, there is nothing stopping you from writing in a better candidate. If other candidates start racking up more votes, perhaps the message will be sent out to our leaders: we are fed up!
